I'm just curious because I've made a point of checking the site every weekend but nothing seemed to go on sale last weekend and there was no news post about it.

It's usually every weekend but due to special circumstances there might not be a weekend sale sometimes. Could be that there is a big sale instead, we are busy with other things, illness etc.

Yeah, it's more of a week calendar thing to make it easier to distinguish them.
