Who are you?

I am FireFlower Games, a proprietor of carefully selected, downloadable, DRM-free games for Windows, Mac and Linux. I love games and I am based in Malmö, Sweden. I’m not an artificial intelligence!

I heard something about FireFlower donating half its profit to charity and games. Is that correct?

That's correct. I want to help game developers and our planet, and I pledge to donate at least half of my annual profits to projects that benefit the environment (through renewable energy, tree planting etc) and game development (what projects will be determined by FireFlower Games together with my users). My goal in the end is to create a platform that not only sells games but gives back to the community and indie developers as well.

How can I pay?

At the moment I accept PayPal as payment option. More options might be available in the future.

My prices are in EUR worldwide, but will be converted to your local currency when you make a purchase. You can use a currency converter if you want to convert the price to your local currency. Local currency exchange fees might apply, please check with your card provider and/or PayPal.

Is my payment information secure?

Your security is very important to me and I go to great lengths to protect it. I protect the confidentiality of every transaction using secure encryption (SSL). Also, for your added security all cards need to have 3D secure activated and I do not store any credit/debit card or other payment information on my servers. All transactions are securely processed directly through your credit card provider or PayPal.

How do downloads work?

So you’re new to downloadable games, eh? Here’s how it works on FireFlower Games:

  • Head over to the page of the game you want to buy and click “add to cart”. Or click on the cart/price icon below or next to the box art of the game you prefer. You can place multiple games in your cart so just repeat this process if you want to browse for more games before checking out.
  • Then head over the checkout page. If you’re a new user - fill in your name, country and email and choose a username and password on the checkout page. If you registered previously and are already logged in, these fields will be filled in. If you can’t remember your password you can use the forgot password link to get a new one.
  • You can also apply any vouchers on the checkout page.
  • Select payment method and confirm your purchase.
  • After the payment has been completed you will be redirected to an order confirmation screen. One or more download links (you will get links for all available platforms and bonus materials) will be available there. Click the link(s) and the download(s) will commence. After the download(s) is complete, click the file(s) you received and install the game. Some games are compressed, so you might need to use a decompression tool like Winzip, Winrar or 7-zip to unpack them before installing. You can also download the games through your account after purchase.
  • Happy gaming!

Can I re-download my purchased games? Is there a limit to the number of re-downloads?

All the games you have bought are available for download in your account. You can download them as many times as you like. And the latest version of the game(s) will always be available.

How will your name appear on my credit card statement?

My name on your credit card statement will appear as Fireflower or Fireflower Games.

Will you send me a DVD/CD of the game?

No! I only sell digital games. It’s better for the environment as the carbon emission footprint is lower, because there is no need to manufacture physical copies of the games or transport them. It also saves you time.

What are your shipping or handling costs?

I always offer free shipping on my games as downloadable games don't have to be shipped physically. :)

Are your downloads legal?

Yes, I'm an official retailer. All games in the store come either directly from the official publishers that published the games or the developers that made the games.

In what formats are your games distributed?

My games are usually distributed in .exe (Windows), .dmg (Mac) or tar.gz (Linux) form. However some games come in .zip form, just unpack these games into a convenient folder on your hard drive and run the primary .exe file. 7-Zip, Winzip or Winrar are good tools for unpacking compressed files.

What is DRM?

DRM means Digital Rights Management and is a kind of copy protection technology used by many companies to limit the usage of digital media. Although designed to stop pirates from creating illegal copies, in reality the only people who are hurt are the legitimate consumers, stripped of their fair use rights, such as the ability to make backup copies.

I believe that a DRM-free world would be a better place and that's why you won't find any DRMs or other intrusive copy protection in games available at FireFlower Games.

What countries are your games available in?

All countries (as long as my service isn't blocked by your government…).

I'm having a problem with launching or playing my purchased game. What should I do?

For help with any questions regarding technical issues with games etc, please use the contact form. You consent to receiving emails from me regarding those inquiries. You can also reach me through Discord, the forum, Reddit and Twitter. I will make every effort to respond to your inquiry within 1 business day. You can also check the developer’s site before contacting me.

Same procedure if you have questions or problems related to placing an order.

I'm a developer. How do I submit my game(s) to FireFlower?

Send an email to developer [at] fireflowergames [dot] com and I'll take a look. Include a game description, a trailer and website link.

How do I know if there is a new version of a game I have bought?

Have a look on Discord, I post about updates there.

Do you provide third-party keys?

No, I sell games that are completely DRM-free. This means that there is nothing preventing or limiting you from installing and playing the game. As such, games from FireFlower Games never come with third-party keys (Steam keys etc).

You can however contact me if you want a game you have on Steam (or other stores) to be available DRM-free on FireFlower Games as well (given it can be found in FireFlower Games’ catalogue of games). All you have to do is make a purchase on FireFlower Games and provide me with your username and proof that you own the game on the other platform.

What artwork formats do you use in the store?

For boxart it's 480x600 and for banners it's 1000x400.
